FROM THE PRESIDENTS DESK:

Happy Holidays To All,

Well December is here and 2012 is right around the corner.  This morning I finished up all the loose ends for Friday's Ladies Day Luncheon and started looking ahead to next year's full calendar.  The Traffic Club has a lot of great things planned.  Here's a quick overview:

  • Salvation Army Bell Ringing. Every year the Traffic Club helps support the Salvation Army by ringing bells at The Galleria. This year it's on December 15th. If you'd like to come out and ring for an hour please contact Tim Collins at tcollins@horizonlines.com or 314-892-9900.

  • 106th Annual Dinner. Thursday March 8th at the Randall Gallery downtown. We are still working on nailing down a speaker.

  • National Transportation Week. Each May the Traffic Club puts on a field trip for a select 4th grade class with the emphasis on Transportation. This year we took a class to River Roads Sales & Leasing to show them trucks and containers for their first stop. Then they went to St. Louis Parks Airport for a tour and a visit to the onsite Fire Department. This year will be much the same.

  • International Night. Will again be held during World Trade Month in May.

  • Traffic Club Golf Tournament will be September 13th. Course TBD

  • Traffic Club International (TCI) Conference. Our Board is honored to be selected to host the 2012 Conference. The dates are September 13 -15. TCI is made up of all the Traffic Clubs within the US, Mexico, and Canada. We are planning a two day conference filled with great speakers and networking events. We are holding it at The Lumiere Place Casino & Hotel.

  • Ladies Day Luncheon. Tentatively scheduled for December 13, 2012.

That's quite a list.  We'll add a few more as we go along.  We're planning a couple joint Networking event's that will benefit the area food pantries.  Of course none of these would be possible without your support and our incredible Traffic Club Board's dedication.   I can't say enough good things about my fellow Board Members.  It's a very strong and passionate group.  Everyone jumps in and makes each event a success.  If you'd like to get involved please feel free to contact me with any questions.  2012 is going to be a heck of a year.

I hope you and your family have a happy and safe Holiday Season.
